Nevada Highway Patrol has released dashboard camera video of a trooper-involved crash this week.
The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on northbound Interstate 15 near the U.S. 95 interchange.
NHP reported a driver in another vehicle was initially attempting to exit from I-15 to northbound U.S. 95 but decided at the last minute to exit southbound U.S. 95. According to NHP, the driver yanked the steering wheel and then lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun sideways, going back onto I-15 where it struck the trooper's vehicle in the front.
The trooper had minor injuries and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver at fault was cited.
"When we get up to go to work in the morning, we don't know what's going to happen, we don't know if we're going to get in a crash, a pursuit, a fight, a shooting, we just don't know, so it's one of those things that we always gotta keep in the back of your mind," said NHP Trooper Jason Burtatczuk.
