LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The National Hockey League is looking to honor the most valuable teacher in the U.S.
Carolyn Avery, who teaches science at Bob Miller Middle School in Henderson, is one of the finalists. Avery was named February's NHL and NHL Players' Association Future Goals Most Valuable Teacher earlier this year, and was presented with a $10,000 technology grant for the Clark County School District.

Avery is going for the national title and could win $20,000.
