Nextdoor users help stop porch pirate in Las Vegas

Thanks to Ring doorbell surveillance video, you can see the thief walk right up to the front door of a home near Cabana Drive and East Twain Avenue, cover several boxes, and swipe them in the middle of the day.

"I guess she doesn't realize I have a Ring doorbell and then just walks away with it," said Maria Laramore, the victim.

Laramore's pet Bobo might have been nearby, but he isn't exactly a guard dog. That's okay because Laramore immediately posted pictures of the criminal on the social nextworking app called Nextdoor.

"I was very surprised on how quick as soon as I posted it on the Nextdoor app, how quick they were like oh we're going to be on the lookout for this woman, thank you for posting pictures," said Laramore.

Her post got dozens of comments within minutes, and just about two hours later Laramore got all her stuff back. Nextdoor users helped police find the criminal.

It just goes to show how these neighbors look out for one another.

"There's a lot of good people and there's these few bad apples unfortunately, but there's also a lot of good people here in Las Vegas," said Roddney Hanson, one of Laramore's neighbors.

Nextdoor lets you connect with people who live near you. Laramore says she checks it several times every day hoping to help others like they helped her.
