11:55 P.M.
Las Vegas and North Las Vegas firefighters responded to the Portola Del Sol apartment complex, near Simmons Street and Vegas Drive, at 11:55 p.m. Sept. 8. READ MORE.
UPDATE 11:45 A.M.
Police say a pedestrian was running across Carey Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a truck near Bledsoe Lane (near Nellis Boulevard) early this morning. The person hit was rushed to UMC Trauma where they died, police say. Their identity will be released at a later date by the coroner's office.
According to the police department, this death will not be counted as a traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction at this time, pending further investigation.
9:55 A.M.
The Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) responds to fire at 4947 Cleveland Ave. CCFD was assisted by Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, responding to an F3H “High” level structural fire. Responding units include five engines, one truck, one rescue, and two battalion chiefs. Upon arrival, personnel reported smoke and flames coming from outside debris extending into a shed, which is not attached to the residential structure. Firefighters are engaging in an offensive attack on the outdoor fire and the shed structure. The outside fire was reported to be knocked down at 10:11 am. The crews aggressively battled the shed fire until knockdown, which occurred at 10:13 am. The fire incident is an ongoing emergency incident. Fire investigators have been requested to respond, and the cause has not yet been determined. No injuries are reported.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire due to power lines down on Mountain View Drive near Decatur Boulevard. The department says there was no fire but the water heater blew up when wires went down according to occupants. READ MORE WEATHER

6 A.M.
Roads are closed as Las Vegas police investigate a deadly crash. Police say a person was hit by a truck near Bledsoe Lane (near Nellis Boulevard) and East Carey Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. Police believe the person was in the roadway outside of a crosswalk. The investigation is preliminary. The person's identity will be released by the coroner.
East and West Carey at Bledsoe are closed as well as Bledsoe North of Carey. Use alternate routes.
