The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

7:39 P.M.

Woman dead after crash in Las Vegas

UPDATE SEPT. 9: The Clark County Coroner has identified the woman as 62-year-old Karen M. Moss. Moss' death was due to blunt force injuries, an accident.

Las Vegas police say a 62-year-old woman was struck outside of a crosswalk while crossing West Lake Mead Boulevard just east of North Torrey Pines Drive. She was transported to UMC Trauma but died at the hospital. The driver of the car that struck her stayed on the scene and cooperated with police. Police say impairment is not suspected. West Lake Mead Boulevard will be closed at North Torrey Pines Drive while police investigate.

10:25 A.M.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Major Violator detectives were attempting to take a wanted fugitive from another jurisdiction into custody near the 6300 block of Beige Bluff St. when the fugitive took off at a high rate of speed. The fugitive was taken into custody near Brazil Street and Gowan Road without incident. Police say the man was wanted for murder in California and also had a weapons charge in Illinois.

5:57 A.M.
Multiple firefighters are on the scene of a pharmacy at 901 N. Lamb Boulevard near Washington Avenue. No injuries have been reported.
