The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:30 A.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating an attempted robbery turned shooting shortly before 5 a.m. near Desert Inn Road and Valley View Boulevard. A man was shot in the leg during the incident. He was transported to the hospital and treated, police say. The incident remains under investigation. READ MORE

6:19 A.M.
There is a backup on Interstate 15 in both directions near Flamingo Road, but the backup is especially bad in the southbound direction. Expect major delays.

The RTC reports a vehicle fire in the area on the I-15 southbound. The right two lanes are blocked. Check back for updates.

OVERNIGHT
Las Vegas police are looking for two men after officers say someone was robbed at gunpoint near Cactus Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday. Hours later, shortly before 9:30 p.m., police found a white car outside the M Resort believed to be involved. When officers tried to stop the car, the department says three men inside ran into the hotel. One man was detained. The two others got away. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
