The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

12:55 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating the deaths of 2 people in the 1000 block of Sierra Vista near Desert Inn Road and South Maryland Parkway. READ MORE.

5 A.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting near Decatur Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue. No other details have been relased.

1 A.M.
UPDATE NOV. 17: The Clark County Coroner has identified the deceased man as 47-year-old Michael Mashburn from Las Vegas. Mashburn's cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and it was determined to be a homicide. The determinations made by the coroner are not legal charges, only an explanation as to the decedents cause of death.

Las Vegas police say a man is dead and another man is in serious condition after getting into a fight at a home on Scarlet Leaf Street near Patrick Lane. The man who is dead was shot multiple times, the other man was stabbed. Police believe the man who is dead was under the influence of drugs when he attacked his roommate with a knife. The roommate grabbed a shotgun and shot the other man several times. At this time, the shooting appears to be self defense.
