LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

5:30 P.M.
Police say they have seen a rise in thefts of large pickup trucks, specifically Ford F-250's and similar trucks in the Las Vegas area. Officers urged community members to secure their vehicles as best they can. The LVMPD also reminded citizens that if you see something, say something and immediately notify authorities.

3:35 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in the area of J Street and Owens. Officers said a man was shot in the neck at that location and was transported to UMC in unknown condition. Police remained in the area for the investigation as no suspect was immediately in custody.
