LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
11:30 A.M.
Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fire on the balcony at the Durango Apartments located at 4515 South Durango. Upon arrival, CCFD units reported fire coming from a balcony at the location and began an offensive fire attack. CCFD says the fire was out by 1140 am. The CCFD units contained the fire in the area of the exterior water heater closet. They confirmed the fire had not extended into the interior of the structure. No occupants were displaced as a result of the incident.
8 A.M.
UPDATE NOV. 17: The Clark County Coroner has identified the body as 29-year-old Daniel Montes-Rodriguez. His death was due to a gunshot wound to the head and it was ruled a homicide.
Las Vegas police say they are investigating a body that was found nearby a business located near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue. The person was found deceased with a gunshot wound without further immediate details known.
