This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for May 30, 2018.

8:18 P.M.

Las Vegas police say a woman driving a Mercedes was traveling northbound on the 600 block of Decatur when she struck an adult male who was crossing Decatur on foot.  The man was transported to the hospital where he later died.

11:52 A.M.

Officers have confirmed that a 2-year-old boy was the victim of a shooting at 3975 North Nellis Boulevard, near North Las Vegas Boulevard. FULL STORY

7 A.M.

A woman told police she went out to her vehicle and started it before leaving the vehicle running while she went inside to get something. When she returned, there was a man inside her vehicle. She tried to get him out of the vehicle and in the process, he ran over her leg. The man took off in her vehicle, a Mitsubishi SUV. The woman has non-life-threatening injuries. The incident happened on Michael Way near Lake Mead Boulevard. It was initially reported as a crash involving a pedestrian. 

5:07 A.M.

A person has been hit by a vehicle near Lake Mead Boulevard and Michael Way. The person was conscious after the crash. Road closures are in effect.

OVERNIGHT

A neighbor is being called a hero after breaking into a senior couple's home because of a fire. The woman who lived inside of the home is deaf and was not aware of the fire. READ MORE. 

OVERNIGHT:

At 9:47 pm on  May 29 police say a pedestrian was critically injured during a crash involving a 2006 Dodge Caravan at the intersection of Mojave Road and Sago Drive.

Officers used evidence at the scene and the driver's statement to figure out that the Dodge was traveling north on Mojave Road when the pedestrian was crossing the intersection at Sago Drive and was hit by the vehicle.

The pedestrian fell to the ground as a result of the crash and slid to a stop.

The driver of the Dodge stopped the vehicle and called 911. The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center with critical injuries and the driver remained at the scene to report the crash.
