The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
7:45 P.M.
Clark County Fire Department received multiple calls about a fire in an apartment at 3391 Athens Street near Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road. When fire crews arrived they quickly entered the apartment and put the fire out to keep it from spreading to adjacent apartments. NV Energy has been requested to respond to the scene. Total damage and the cause of the fire has not been determined. American Red Cross is assisting 3 adults affected by the fire. No injuries that required transport to a hospital were reported.
5 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a critical injury crash at the intersection of Sahara and Burnham avenues, west of Eastern Avenue, that involved a juvenile. Street closures are in place at the scene for the investigation.

9:45 A.M.
Roads near Green Valley Parkway and Sunset Road are closed, and will be for several hours, after a crash involving a Henderson police officer.
Henderson Police Department says the officer was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. Police say the officer was investigating another crash around 8 a.m. when his vehicle was hit by another vehicle.
Green Valley Parkway is closed in both directions for the time being.
