LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:30 P.M.
Las Vegas police say the situation earlier near Dean Martin Drive and Blue Diamond is over. Robbery detectives and the Criminal Apprehension Team tracked a person suspected of a kidnapping on June 26 in the northwest area to the Highland Inn. After announcing their presence at the motel, police heard a single gunshot. They later discovered the person inside the room was deceased. The kidnapping victim is at home and safe. Police will remain on scene for a few hours. Roads have reopened.

4:45 P.M.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives are on scene near Dean Martin Drive and Blue Diamond Road where they located a wanted suspect in an apartment. Detectives have not been able to make contact with the suspect or get him to come out. Detectives are treating this as a barricaded subject incident. SWAT and negotiators have responded and will attempt to make contact with the suspect. This event is ongoing. Dean Martin will be blocked off from Blue Diamond to Wigwam until this is resolved. Avoid the area.

4:30 P.M.
North Las Vegas police are investigating a murder-suicide in a home near Lone Mountain and Decatur Boulevard. Police say it involves a 68-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man. A gun was found near the couple. It reportedly happened around 4:30 p.m.

1:15 P.M.
North Las Vegas police report a fatal crash occurred between a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and June Avenue, north of Carey Avenue. A motorcyclist was killed in the collision and the incident remains under investigation.

11:15 A.M.
Nevada Highway Patrol said they are investigating a shooting that involved a trooper near Elko, where the trooper was not injured and more details to be released later.
