The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

6 P.M.
Eastern is back open in both directions near Flamingo after am extremely critical crash involving a woman riding a bicycle and an SUV.

5 P.M.
A woman was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition after police say she was hit by an SUV while riding a bike near Eastern and Flamingo. The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. Eastern is currently closed in both directions between Flamingo and Harmon. Avoid the area if you can.

Police say the SUV stayed on the scene. LVMPD Fatal Detail have been notified.

9:17 A.M.
81-year-old Enzo Di Filippo is dead after a crash near South El Capitan Way and Bungle Run Avenue. Police say that Filippo attempted to turn in front of another car when the collision occurred. Filippo and 77-year-old Mercedes Di Filippo were both transported to a hospital. Filippo was treated at Southern Hills Hospital, He was then transferred to a rehab facility. Eventually he was released. However, he was in and out of the hospital with complications between June 30 and July 12 and succumbed to his injuries on July 13.
