The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

6:20 P.M.
Clark County Fire Department responded to a call of a fire in a building at 2700 State Street. The first arriving crews entered the building and were able to put water on the fire within 5 minutes of the initial call. A second alarm was called due to the length of the incident and the excessive heat to ensure enough resources were on the scene. Three trucks, eight engines, four rescues, two Battalion Chiefs, and the Air Resource unit were dispatched to the scene with a total of over 50 personnel to fight this fire. Crews from Clark County Fire and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue were called to the scene.

NV Energy was requested to respond to secure utilities. There were no civilian injuries as a result of the fire. One firefighter was transported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are pending.

6:41 A.M.
Clark County Fire Department is on the scene of a fire at 5995 Vegas Valley Drive near Nellis Boulevard. Smoke can be seen from around the valley.
