The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
12:27 P.M.
Vegas police were called to a home in the 7400 block of Hawk Shadow Avenue to investigate reports of a suicidal man who ingested an unknown narcotic. Officers said the man was not complying and placed in handcuffs. As medical attempted to treat him, the man stopped breathing. He was transported to Spring Valley Hospital but pronounced deceased.
The Clark County coroner identified the man on Feb. 3 as 37-year-old David Baxter. His cause of death is still pending.
4:51 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue are on the scene of a fire at 701 Sunny Place near Washington Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The Clark County coroner identified the deceased on Feb. 3 as 54-year-old Phillip D. Richards of Las Vegas. His official cause of death is still pending.
