The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
2:20 P.M.
Nye County Sheriff officials report that a serious collision involving one of their vehicles occurred on SR 160 near Matthew Lane in Pahrump. The deputy in the vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle involved were transported to Desert View Hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Commuters are asked to avoid the area as SR 160 will be closed while Nevada Highway Patrol officials investigate.
