LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
12:40 P.M.
An Alaska Airlines flight from Los Angeles headed to Bozeman, Montana diverted to Las Vegas after reports of smoke in the cockpit. A spokesperson for McCarran Airport says the plane landed safely with 20 people, including passengers and crew, on board. However, authorities did not confirm the cause of the diversion at this time.
11:45 A.M.
Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at a storage unit at 2525 N. Lamont St. There have been no reports of injuries from the fire. The cause of the fire has not been determined. Damage estimates are not yet available.
UPDATE: Nye County Sheriff's Office says state Route 318 is clear following the fatal crash earlier.
10:40 A.M.
The Nye County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash on state Route 318 at mile marker 18 south of the Sunny Side rest area. The highway will be closed pending the investigation.
