Las Vegas breaking news for December 20, 2018

The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

7 P.M.

Henderson police are investigating a fatal crash where a 75-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wigwam Parkway, west of Green Valley Parkway. Officers said impairment and speed were not factors in the crash while the pedestrian was outside of a marked crosswalk. Police said a Ford F-150 was able to stop before hitting the pedestrian but the pedestrian kept walking into the travel lane of an Acura before she was struck. UPDATE DEC. 21: The Clark County coroner identified the woman killed as Marva Whitehead of Henderson. She died of multiple blunt force injuries.

6:05 P.M.

Las Vegas police are at the scene of a fatal crash in the 5100 block of Ann Road, west of Decatur Boulevard. Investigators said a pedestrian was attempting to cross the street outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle struck and killed that person. UPDATE DEC. 27: The Clark County coroner identified the pedestrian killed as 49-year-old Troy L. Brown. He died of multiple blunt force injuries in the accident.

3:34 P.M.

Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash near Blue Diamond and Lindell roads. According to NHP, a Chevy truck tried turning onto Blue Diamond from Lindell and was hit by a Suburban that had the right of way. The driver of the Chevy truck died of his injuries while the two occupants of the Suburban had non-life-threatening injuries. UPDATE DEC. 21: The Clark County coroner identified the man killed as 71-year-old Frank Vuckovic of Las Vegas. He died of multiple blunt force injuries.
