The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:55 P.M.
The Clark County Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire in a townhome located at 2343 Koho Drive. Firefighters were able to rescue three dogs and help a 90-year-old resident escape the fire. The person suffered minor injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

7:53 P.M.
UPDATE DEC. 14: The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 26-year-old Phillip Semper from Las Vegas. His cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and his death has been ruled a homicide.

North Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 2600 block of Sommer Court near the North Las Vegas Airport. The shooting left one person dead and another person was taken to UMC in unknown condition. Authorities say it doesn't appear to be a random act of violence.

7:02 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responding to cooking fire at Siegel Suites, 1300 Fremont St. One adult with minor burns to hands/face transported to hospital. Cooking fires leading cause of fire related injuries.

6:17 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue are on the scene of a fire at 4621 Stacey Ave. near Decatur and Lake Mead boulevards. No injuries, 2 people displaced.
