5:29 P.M.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Missing Persons Detail is asking for the public's assistance in locating Jawaher Hejji. She might possibly be in severe emotional distress and in need of medical assistance. Hejji was last seen on Dec. 22 at about 12 p.m. READ MORE.
12:35 P.M.
Las Vegas police say the incident near Desert Inn and Cambridge has ended. The woman was taken into custody and will be taken to a hospital for evaluation. She is facing a battery charge. Police say she cut her boyfriend. He did not need to go to the hospital. Roads will reopen by 1 p.m.
11 A.M.
Las Vegas police are on the scene of a barricade in the 1100 block of East Desert Inn Road and Cambridge. Police say they responded to a family disturbance around 9:13 a.m. and were told that a woman is armed with an "edged weapon." LVMPD SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams are on the scene. Desert Inn Road is shut down in both directions between Maryland Parkway and Cambridge Street. The public is advised to avoid the area.

4:34 A.M.
JAN. 8 UPDATE: The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 30-year-old Jerry Torres from Las Vegas. His cause and manner of death are still pending.
Las Vegas police are investigating a death in the 5700 block of Missouri Avenue near Boulder Highway. Police say a man was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.
4:23 A.M.
Las Vegas police say a man was shot around 4:23 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Brush Street near Charleston and Decatur boulevards. He received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. No one has been arrested.
2:36 A.M.
Las Vegas ire & Rescue responded to a vehicle fire on North Honolulu Street. No injuries reported.
