The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
9:30 P.M.
A man is dead after hitting a tree on Oso Blanca Road near Farm Road. Police say that 66-year-old man got out of his truck after the crash and appeared to be having a hard time breathing. he then collapsed. He was pronounced dead at UMC. At this time, the death is not being accounted as a traffic-related fatality.
UPDATE DEC. 30: The Clark County coroner has identified the man as 66-year-old Rocco Louis Candela. His death was caused by atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardio vascular disease and his death was ruled accidental.

Crash on Boulder Highway near Lamb Boulevard.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has temporarily closed the Scenic Drive because there are too many visitors.

2 p.m.
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting at a bus stop near Boulder Highway and Desert Inn Road. Police say they found a man who needed medical attention and he was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. No one has been arrested at this time. This is an active scene and road closures may be in effect.
