5:49 P.M.
The Clark County Fire Department and Henderson Fire Department responded to a "high" level structure fire response at 611 Baldurn Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters reported a fully involved garage fire in a two story home. The fire was contained to the original structure and controlled within six minutes of the first arriving unit. The fire cause was determined to be discarded smoking material and damages have been estimated at $70,000. No injuries were reported, but two adults were displaced.
9:25 A.M.
According to a letter sent to parents, a student from Tarkanian Middle School walking to a bus stop was approached by two men in a white van. The incident occurred near Blue Diamond Road and Dean Martin Drive. READ MORE

One lane has reopened on Kyle Canyon Road after the earlier crash.
8:45 A.M.
State Route 157/Kyle Canyon Road is closed at mile marker 11 west of U.S. 95 because of a rollover.
8:35 A.M.
Students have returned to class at Swainston Middle School.
7:54 A.M.
Swainston Middle School on Gilmore Avenue in North Las Vegas has been evacuated because of a possible gas leak in the kitchen.
OVERNIGHT
A man is dead after being stabbed in the neck on Casada Way near Scholl. Police say the man was walking with a group of people when they were approached by another man who asked to use a phone. The two men then walked away from group and an argument began. The man who wanted to use a phone then stabbed the man. The victim, a male in his 40s, died at the hospital. The suspect was arrested at a nearby apartment complex. The men may have known each other.
