The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

UPDATE:
A tractor-trailer pulling a tanker was heading northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard just past Hollywood Boulevard and struck a female adult in the travel lane outside of any crosswalk. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver stayed on the scene and Nevada Highway Patrol doesn't believe there is any impairment and the driver is cooperating. READ MORE

NHP: One dead after being hit by car on Las Vegas Blvd

11 P.M.
Nevada Highway Patrol is on the scene of a fatal crash between an automobile and person on Las Vegas and Hollywood Boulevards. All travel lanes on Las Vegas Boulevard are closed at that intersection. Avoid the area and find an alternate route. READ MORE

10:30 P.M.

Update (4/30/20): The Clark County Coroner has identified the person killed in the fatal collision as 14-year-old Akadin Frankopoulos from Las Vegas. The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, accident.

Las Vegas police are on the scene of a hit & run collision between an automobile and person that occurred at Tropicana Avenue and Morris Street. READ MORE

The pedestrian was crossing Tropicana Avenue at Morris Street. The person was struck by a red or orange SUV, possibly a Chevy Tahoe, that failed to stop at the scene.

The person was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. Tropicana Avenue is closed in both directions from Sacks Drive to Nellis Boulevard. Avoid the area.

11:30 A.M.

UPDATE (5/14/20): The Clark County Coroner has identified the man as 55-year-old Walter Michael Cano. His cause of death is still pending.

Las Vegas police are investigating after a man was found dead around 8:30 a.m., floating in one of the lakes at Lorenzi Park. This is an active investigation. 13 Action News has a crew at the scene. Check back for more information.

7:37 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a garage fire at a home on 208 Scherer Street, near Westcliff and Buffalo drives. No Injuries to report.

3:11 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a patio fire at an apartment on 5101 O'Bannon Drive near Decatur Boulevard. Damage is estimated at $25,000. No injuries to report. The cause remains under investigation, though authorities say they cannot rule out a small bar-be-cue grill was the cause. It was found on the patio and firefighters say heat detection equipment showed that hot coals were still inside the bar-be-cue.
