Inmate Dee J. Wilson at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center was pronounced deceased at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center at approximately 7 p.m. Wilson was service 36 to 180 months for robbery with a cons

Police say the person who was found dead just before last night was an unarmed security officer. Police say the 75-year-old man was found with an apparent gunshot wound in a parking lot near Harmon Avenue and Mountain Vista Street just before 10 p.m. on April 22. READ MORE.

The lockdown at Rex Bell Elementary School is over. Police say they have taken the people they were looking for into custody.

Nevada Highway Patrol says that the Flamingo/I-15 on-ramp has reopened after a truck overturned there this morning.
10 A.M.
Rex Bell Elementary School on Richfield Boulevard near Valley View Boulevard and Sahara Avenue is on lockdown because Las Vegas police are looking for 2 people in the area. Police believe they may be in a residence near the school. The lockdown is a precaution. Residents in the immediate area have also been evacuated.

A pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle near Paradise Road and East Sahara Avenue. The pedestrian was later pronounced deceased at Sunrise Hospital.

Police are investigating after a man was found unconscious at a gas station near Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road. A person called 911 shortly after 2:45 a.m. when they walked into Speedee Mart in the area and discovered a clerk laying on the ground unconscious. The clerk was transported to the hospital with an abrasion to his head but is stable. It is not known at this time whether the clerk sustained his injury as a result of foul play, a medical episode, or an accidental fall.
UPDATE: Police said on Tuesday afternoon that the clerk had a medical episode.

OVERNIGHT
A person is dead after police officers say they were found bleeding and laying unconscious with an apparent gunshot wound in a parking lot in the southeast part of the valley. This happened near Russell Road and Mountain Vista Street just before 10 p.m. on April 22. That person was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead. The investigation remains ongoing.
