The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:25 P.M.
Las Vegas firefighters responded to the Four Queens hotel-casino with reports of a mattress fire in a guest room on the 10th floor. The fire was out upon crews arrival and they were working on removing smoke from the room. No injuries reported.

11:34 A.M.
Henderson police officers are on the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Green Valley near Windmill parkways. Authorities say a 56-year-old man in a pickup truck collided into a light pole. The driver was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries. Officers do not believe impairment and speed were factors.

Expect traffic delays on N. Green Valley Parkway just north of Wigwam Parkway as two lanes have been closed. The crash remains under investigation.

11:15 A.M.
The Clark County Fire Department was called to 2515 S. Bruce Street for reports of a vehicle fire. However, arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from a structure. Forty-one personnel were assigned. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no immediate injuries were reported after the fire was extinguished.

10 A.M.
Traffic going west on Desert Inn Road is being diverted to southbound Lindell Road following a crash in the area. Plan for delays.

OVERNIGHT UPDATE
Police say two juveniles have died after being hit by a car while crossing the street near Maryland Parkway and Katie Avenue (near Twain Avenue) on Aug. 3. Police say the driver drove up on the sidewalk and was taken to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation but police say officers believe impairment was a factor.
