The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
5:02 P.M.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is on the scene of a barricade situation in the 6800 block of Sheffield Drive near Rainbow Boulevard and Craig Road.
Officers say they were conducting follow up regarding a wanted suspect when the suspect refused to exit the residence. SWAT and negotiators have arrived on the scene. Rainbow is closed between Craig Road and Hartman Street.
The man was eventually able to be taken into custody with the scene cleared.
5:30 P.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue is on the scene of a fire at 401 E Charleston Blvd., the Siegel Suites, they say an apartment on the 3rd floor has smoke coming from it. They say it is confined to the unit, no injuries reported.
12 P.M.
NV Energy is reporting that almost 9,000 customers are without power at this time. Most of the customers are located in zip codes 89107, 89108 and 89128. There are 10 outages total at this time. Click here for more information.
