The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
9:51 P.M.
Police have located the 64-year-old man, Eugene Johnson, who was reported missing earlier today. The North Las Vegas Police Department would like to thank everyone who assisted in locating him.
8:38 P.M.
Clark County Fire Department is on the scene of a structure fire at 2654 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway at the Cigarettes Cheaper smoke shop.
1:37 P.M.
Police are asking for help finding a 64-year-old man who went missing today at about 5 a.m. in North Las Vegas.
According to the department, 64-year-old Eugene Johnson was reported missing Aug. 31. He was last seen at about 5 a.m. by his family. Johnson was last seen near his home at 5900 block of Nuevo Leon Street. His home is near the area of W Tropical and Valley in North Las Vegas.
Johnson is described as about 5’ 11” 160 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen black jeans, Teal NFL Jersey (Carolina Panthers #19) (same jersey that is in the attached photograph).
Johnson suffers from dementia, has a history of strokes, and has multiple health issues related to his heart. He does not have access to his medications.
All hospitals are asked to check their registries for Johnson , or any John Doe matching the above description, and to notify police immediately if found. It should be noted that HIPPA permits disclosure upon request to law enforcement, and is authorized pursuant, 45 C.F.R. section 154.512.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Johnson is asked to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department immediately at 702-633-9111.
