A roundup of breaking news around the Las Vegas valley for April 25, 2017.

12:08 A.M.

Nevada Highway Patrol said a car was heading northbound on U.S. 95 at a high speed when the driver tried to exit at Durango Drive and hit another car. The initial car caught fire. The driver was sent to University Medical Center. NHP is investigating that driver for possible DUI. The second car received minor damage and the driver was not injured.

MIDNIGHT

More details were released on a crash involving a sedan and a semi-truck on Sunset Road. Police said a semi-truck pulling two flatbed trailers was making a turn from Escondido Street to Sunset Road when it was struck by a Honda Accord exceeding the speed limit. The driver of the Honda, identified as 21-year-old Ronz Pascua of Las Vegas, was transported to UMC Trauma with critical injuries.

11:10 P.M.

Northbound U.S. 95 is closed at Durango Drive due to a crash. No other details have been released. 

7:30 P.M.

Police said family of the 13-year-old called police saying they found the body of the relative in the desert area off Boulder Highway. However, police said the body was so decayed that it had to have been there three to four months and it is too decayed to tell the sex or race. But police did say the body does match that of a 13-year-old. READ MORE.

7:15 P.M.

The family of a missing boy says the body found near Boulder Highway is the 13-year-old missing for the past two weeks. However, police say the body is too decayed to tell at this point.

5:55 P.M.

The body found Tuesday afternoon was in a desert area near a bike trail between Boulder Highway and U.S. 95.

4:40 P.M.

Las Vegas police are investigating a suspicious death in the 3600 block of Boulder Highway, south of Sahara Avenue, after a decayed body was found around 3:30 p.m.

4:12 P.M.

The driver of a sedan is in critical condition after the car got stuck under a semi-truck near Escondido Street and East Sunset Road, just east of Paradise Road. The sedan driver is being transported to UMC Trauma. Sunset Road is closed in both directions.

2:30 P.M.

Henderson police say the woman reported missing last week was found dead in a nearby yard. READ MORE.

Police say that the first person stabbed during 3 attacks last week has died. The accused killer is Richi Briones. READ MORE.

12:15 P.M.

Police say the man who was hit by the bus this morning was 60 years old. He was pushing a shopping cart in a travel lane when he was struck by the bus. His death was the 43rd traffic-related fatality so far this year in Las Vegas. READ MORE.

11:46 A.M.

Clark County Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 5701 Missouri Avenue. All occupants were evacuated safely. No damage estimate at this time.

11:40 A.M.

A 4-month-old baby was shot in the hand on the 300 block of Harmon Avenue according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The baby has been transported to Sunrise hospital with a non-life threatening wound.

Police are investigating a report that says a gun fired in a neighboring apartment sent a bullet through the wall and struck the child.

4:40 A.M.

A male pedestrian was hit by a bus near Las Vegas and Lamb boulevards around 2:30 a.m. The man was transported to the hospital where he died. Police say he was in the road. Road closures will be in effect until the scene can be cleared. READ MORE.
