LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A newly released FBI report is giving us a glimpse of crime statistics across the Las Vegas valley.
The report compares the first 6 months of 2017 with the first 6 months of 2018.
Henderson saw a major jump in property crime. In 2018 there were more than 3,000 cases, which is up more than 420 cases from 2017.
In Las Vegas, violent crimes went up by more than 220 cases in 2018. Property crimes increased by more than 700 cases, going from just under 23,000 to nearly 23,600.
The best news came out of North Las Vegas. Violent crimes went down with 41 fewer cases than the year before. There was also a decrease in property crimes with 233 fewer cases than the year before.
