A new product aims to stop package thieves from gaining easy access to your belongings.
Package thieves have been an ongoing problem in Las Vegas. Often, video doorbells and surveillance cameras capture the thieves while they're in the act.
A company wants to stop those thieves before they even get a chance to walk away with your goods.
It's called BoxLock. The product is essentially a padlock which connects to the internet. The delivery driver uses the padlock to scan your package and make sure it belongs to you. The lock then opens allowing the delivery driver to drop the package off in a secure box and lock the padlock once again.
"You can only imagine if you've been one of those victims, every day you come home wondering if your package is still there," said founder Brad Ruffkess.
The technology is one of many solutions that have recently been created to stop package thieves.
Amazon and Walmart also offer secure drop-off locations for people buying items from their websites.
