LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — There's a new proposal that would give police officers the ability to give a ticket on the spot to anyone using fireworks illegally.
The Las Vegas City Council is considering an ordinance that would bypass the court system and allow officers to give offenders a ticket and fine immediately instead of an order to appear in court.
Under the ordinance, there would be a $250 fine for the first offense and $500 fine for the 2nd and 3rd offenses.
