SOUTHWEST LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A new emergency facility is opening in southwest Las Vegas on Monday.

ER at Blue Diamond is a freestanding emergency department, an extension of the Spring Valley Hospital, on the northwest corner of Blue Diamond Road and Cimarron Road.

Doctor Patrick Olivieri tells 13 Action News that they will serve the area with 24/7 emergency care in a convenient setting.

"We can do anything… you need an ER for,” Doctor Olivieri says.

The facility is opening in the southwest because it's "a side of town that continues to grow” and based on research many families are deciding to move there, according to Olivieri.

"Not only is there a pediatric need but a need for the parents as they explore their first trouble with healthcare."

ER at Blue Diamond features eight treatment rooms, with an additional three rapid medical exam rooms, advanced imaging services such as CT, ultrasound and X-ray and an on-site laboratory.

"We have all the tools we need to help differentiate when there's truly an emergency or when people have a real concern,” Doctor Olivieri says.

It will use the Cerner FirstNet electronic medical record system that is compatible with Spring Valley Hospital and other Valley Health System facilities and will enable patients to access their private health information online, in a secure fashion.

The ER is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians, nursing, imaging and laboratory staff.

Exterior signage will be uncovered around 7 a.m on Monday followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
