LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — New rules are coming to Uber, which include changes to their community guidelines that would allow user removal from the app if a rider rating dips too low.
Uber claims the changes are to create an environment for both riders and drivers that is safe, respectful, and positive.
In a blog post published Tuesday,Uber says the will provide riders with tips on how to improve their ratings.
Uber says doing things like encouraging proper behavior, avoiding leaving trash in the vehicle and avoiding illegal requests from drivers which include speeding can improve ratings.
Rideshare drivers in the Las Vegas valley say these changes were long overdue.
"If you rate a passenger of driver three stars or less, you're guaranteed not to have that person again, at least with that account, so if we rate them 3 or lower, that's another security measure in place," said driver Frankie Guarino.
