New apps that parents should know about in order to protect children

Our phones can put children in danger and it seems like the technological landscape keeps changing.

There's a new batch of apps to put on your radar: Roblox, Musical.Ly, and Minecraft. Like Twitter and Instagram, these apps are interactive and sometimes you can chat with complete strangers.

Experts warn predators can hook a child on one app then get them to switch over to another app that could more easily be misused.

For parents, know what apps your child is using. Figure out if there's a chat feature and check your child's messages from time to time.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has a special section that works specifically on internet crimes against children.
