Nevada receives D grade for school zone safety

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A new study has revealed the most dangerous school zones in the country.

Clark County and Nevada received D grades. Nevada was ranked No. 38 out of 51 and Clark County was ranked No. 16 out of 17 counties in the state.

The safest school zones are near Ute Perkins Elementary School, Sig Rogich Middle School and Hayes Elementary.

The most dangerous school zone is near Sierra Vista High School.

Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for all school-age children in the U.S. Most deaths happen just before and just after school.
