According to most recent study by the Violence Policy Center, Nevada ranks third in the nation for rate of women murdered by men.
The study revealed that 29 females were murdered by men in Nevada in 2016. Two of them were younger than 18 and 5 were older than 65.
Most of the victims were middle-aged women with the average age being 41.
13 Action News recently spoke with the CEO of domestic violence support agency SafeNest. She says we are at epidemic portions in our city for domestic violence. One of the reasons that so many women are victims is because of isolation.
The study says the weapon sued to kill victims include guns, knives and bodily force. All of the female victims were killed by someone they knew.
