New campaign finance reports show Democrat Steve Sisolak raised about $1 million more in recent months than his Republican opponent Adam Laxalt in their tight race for Nevada governor.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports campaign finance reports filed this week show Laxalt raised $2.9 million from early June through mid-October. Sisolak raised $4.2 million in that same period.
Laxalt's donations included $10,000 from the Republican Governor's Association, $40,000 from Boyd Gaming's casinos and $200,000 from companies associated with Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley.
Sisolak's campaign finance report shows $200,000 in donations from 20 different companies affiliated with MGM Resorts, $5,000 from the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, backed by former President Barack Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, and a combined $25,000 from longtime U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, his political action committee, and his son Key Reid.
