LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Furniture and trash dumped in an empty lot is creating an eyesore for neighbors living in an east Las Vegas neighborhood.

Residents informed 13 Action News about the numerous items left behind in a lot near their homes on Christy Lane and Charleston Boulevard.

However, there are two Republic Services locations where residents can drop off their bulk items when needed - one is located near Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street with another near Sunset and Gibson Roads.

The company does note that the items have to be waste coming from the person's home and not from a business or rental property.

For service schedules, residents can call Republic Services at 702-735-5151 or enter their information on its websiteto check a bulk pick up day.

"Curbside Bulk pickup is also available to residents on an every-other-week basis; residents need to check their service schedule to determine what dates these areas they vary around town," Jeremy Walters, Southern Nevada community relations manager, said.

Also, if you see someone dumping illegally, take pictures or video if you can -- safely.

Also, if you can get the person's license plate and report it to the Southern Nevada Health District, you could be eligible for a reward.
