LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Neighbors at a Las Vegas apartment complex say their dumpsters were left overflowing for days in the heat and made living conditions unbearable.

Cell phone video sent to 13 Action News shows the reality of what folks at the Cornerstone Crossing apartment complex were dealing with after the 4th of July.

Lilian Andrews is the woman behind the video, which shows the mess of trash spilling out of three dumpsters outside her building.

“Needles, diapers, roaches, flies, everything, it was piled high.” says Andrews.

Making matters worse, the over 100-degree temperatures made the stench even more unbearable.

“We can’t open our doors to get relief from the heat,” says Andrews. “It chokes you, it’s hard to breathe, and for children, we all have babies under five it’s impossible to live.”

Despite multiple calls to the leasing office, Andrews says her concerns fell on deaf ears.

“We started calling you guys and the health department that they decided to come kind of clean it up and just put lids on it,” says Andrews.

Neighbors say groundskeepers came to clear the trash off the ground Thursday.

Those same workers then came back and started taking pictures of our 13 Action News crew as they were there the same day, but would't give a straight answer as to when the trash would be picked up.

A representative from Republic Services told 13 Action News the delay in pickup was due to the apartment complex not paying their bill.

The issue has since been resolved as of Friday, and Republic Services picked up the trash this morning.
