Officials confirmed a Yorkie was euthanized because of a traumatic brain injury after being thrown from a vehicle in Tennessee.
Nashville's Metro Animal Care and Control would like to speak with the good Samaritan who called authorities after watching someone throw the dog out of the moving vehicle near downtown.
The incident happened at the intersection of Charlotte Avenue and Dr. DB Todd Jr. Boulevard around 1 a.m. Monday.
The Nashville Fire Department responded immediately and transported the dog, a small Yorkshire Terrier, to an emergency veterinarian.
The dog was euthanized shortly after because its brain was severely damaged.
MACC is working to pull surveillance video from the area but would also like to speak to whoever called 911 to report the incident.
