Washington state rocked by 4.6 magnitude earthquake, 3.5 aftershock

The state of Washington was rocked Friday morning with a 4.6 magnitude earthquake Friday morning, the Associated Press reports.

The earthquake occurred near Three Lakes, Washington at 2:51 a.m. local time. The earthquake was followed by a 3.5 aftershock.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

CBS News reports that the earthquake was the largest in the Seattle area since a 6.1 earthquake in February 2001.

The Seattle earthquake occurred the same day as a 4.9 magnitude earthquake was measured in southern California.
