President Donald Trump said he will visit Alabama on Friday following a string of deadly tornadoes that killed at least 23 people over the weekend.

"I'll be heading to Alabama on Friday," Trump said Tuesday at a White House event. "It's been a tragic situation. But a lot of good work is being done."

Dozens of people were injured in the tornadoes, with 77 patients from areas affected hospitalized on Sunday. At least seven or eight people are still missing and the victims ranged in age, with the youngest being 6 years old.

Details on what Trump will do while in Alabama haven't been revealed, but the president did say he would be meeting with Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.
