Recreational marijuana could become legal in Mexico

Mexico is on the brink of legalizing recreational marijuana.

By all indications the country's president will sign the bill if its passed by the Senate.

The move would make Mexico one of the largest cannabis markets in the world.

The U.S. would become the only North American country to not legalize marijuana on a federal level.

But critics say legalization is unlikely to make a dent in violence fueled by drug cartels.
