Netflix is making a major change to its user experience.

The company is getting rid of its five-star rating system—which allows viewers to rate every title they watch—and replacing it with a thumbs up/thumbs down rating system.

According to a report from The Verge, Netflix executive Todd Yellin announced the move this week, saying it was meant to entice more users to rate titles, improving the titles that Netflix will recommend they watch.

The purpose of Netflix's rating system is to create a personalized experience for each user, showing them titles an algorithm expects they will like based on their viewing patterns and previous ratings.

"Five stars feels very yesterday now," Yellin told a group of reporters, according to The Verge.

The change is expected to happen worldwide in April.
