It's a big day for exploration on Mars!

NASA's most sophisticated rover yet is getting ready to land.

Perseverance has traveled more than 290 million miles since leaving Earth in July.

It's part of NASA's first mission to search for signs of ancient life on another planet.

And two scientists from UNLV were part of the historic mission.

Today, the team will work to squeeze the rover into a 5-mile by 4-mile space on the edge of a river delta filled with cliffs, rocks, and sand dunes.

Although NASA will not be able to livestream the actual landing, they will be live streaming the countdown to it.

It all starts today at 11:15 a.m.
