Saturday was the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's National Drug Take-Back Day.
Las Vegas police took part in the event in the valley, which is aimed at removing potentially dangerous prescription medications from the community.
Authorities were on hand to collect the medications, which will then be destroyed.
The DEA says most prescription drug abusers get their drugs from family, friends and the household medicine cabinet.
