The annual Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is happening this weekend and that means lots of road closures.
More than 40,000 runners from every U.S. state and 83 foreign countries have registered for the full and half marathons which will take place primarily on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Three related events will take place on Saturday: Hallowrock Half Marathon, Las Vegas Backcountry and Pedestrian 5K Safety Run/Walk/Roll
The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Sunday. Both the half marathon and full marathon will start at 4:30 p.m. The start line for both is Las Vegas Boulevard and Dewey Drive and the finish line is front of The Mirage on Las Vegas Boulevard.
In addition, there is a three-day fitness and health expo from Nov. 10 to 12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The expo is free and open to the public and features the latest in running technologies, fitness apparel, health & nutritional information and interactive displays.
Runners and spectators are also invited to celebrate with Snoop Dogg during a pre-race party at Las Vegas Village at 3 p.m. Nov. 13.
Although there are road closures expected Nov. 12, the bulk of the road closures will take place Nov. 13 for the full marathon.
Road closures will take place both in the downtown area and close to the Las Vegas Strip (in addition to the Strip itself).
Major ramp closures on Nov. 13 include:
• I-15 northbound and southbound at the Tropicana eastbound off-ramps from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
