Mount Charleston visitors receiving tickets for illegally parking

and last updated

Nevada Highway Patrol says that hundreds of tickets have already been handed out for illegal parking on Mount Charleston.

NHP Trooper Jason Buratczuk says that if people want to visit the mountain, they should leave early. They are also suggesting that people carpool because of the fact that there is limited parking.

Residents on the mountain and at Lee Canyon say that it is upsetting when people park on their private property. Jimmy Alderson told us that he is afraid that something could happen to someone on his property and he would be held liable.

Visitors should also keep in mind that there are a very limited number of bathrooms on the mountain. Public restrooms have been closed because of the partial government shutdown.
