ORIGINAL STORY
Police are investigating a crash involving an SUV and motorcycle Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. near Eastern and Rochelle avenues. The motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on Eastern when the crash occurred with an SUV, which was turning left. Police said the motorcycle hit the front of the SUV so hard it broke the axle of the SUV, then flipped over and landed on the other side.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered severe injuries. The man was transported to Sunrise Trauma where he is now in stable condition.
A GiveForward account has been set up for Lorenzo Charo, who was injured in the crash. His friends say he is alert and talking but he did lose one of his legs.
Friends said Charo was on his way to church.
The four occupants in the SUV sustained minor injuries.
