The minor charged with brutally killing swans and ducks at a local park admitted to a felony charge in court Monday morning.

The suspect was arrested about two weeks ago in connection to the birds' deaths in November at Desert Shores. His name has not been released since he's a minor.
The judge gave the suspect probation until he was 21 years old and hundreds of hours of community service.

Protesters held a rally in front of the courthouse at 8:45 a.m. Protesters had wanted the suspect to get probation until he's 21 years old.
"I can't even imagine how horrible the swans felt because they were loved and cared for by the community," said Stacia Newman, the president of Nevada Political Action for Animals.

Minor accused of killing ducks and swans is expected in court. People rallying outside want the judge to hand down the max punishment.
